Dr Olayinka Stephen Ilesanmi

Director, Plus-Circle Community Health Advancement Organization

Dr Olayinka Stephen Ilesanmi is a physician trained in Community medicine, infectious diseases, public health, epidemiology, medical statistics, and business administration. He began his career as a resident doctor in the Department of Community Medicine of the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria where he participated and led research on communicable and non-communicable diseases prevention and control, health economics and infectious disease epidemiology. He was the best fellowship candidate in the Faculty of Community Health, West African College of Physicians in 2013. He has led several community health services in rural and urban communities in Nigeria and other countries in West Africa within the 15+ years of his professional career.

Dr Olayinka Ilesanmi currently serves as the Team Lead at the West Africa Regional Collaborating Centre of Africa CDC in Abuja, Nigeria. He has co-authored 350+ academic publications in local and international peer-reviewed journals with high-impact factor. He is passionate about generating new knowledge and solving existing infectious diseases and community health problems. He services as the Director of Programs and Operations at Plus-Circle Community Health Advancement Organization.

Ms. Aanuoluwapo Adeyimika Afolabi

Capacity-building officer and programs coordinator

Ms. Aanuoluwapo Afolabi is a public health professional with interests in reproductive and family health, community health development, and epidemiology.  She is a Ph.D. candidate of the public health program at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nigeria. Aanuoluwapo has completed many professional certification programs in public health global health security, and monitoring and evaluation from prestigious institutions, organizations, and groups, including Young African Leaders Initiative Network, African Centres for Disease Prevention and Control, University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria, and the World Bank. She has presented at many local and international conferences and has published about 100 scientific articles in local and international peer-reviewed journals with high-impact factors.

Aanuoluwapo Afolabi combines professional academic work with public health practice. She is a Board member and reviewer for many journals including BMC Public Health, Frontiers in Public Health and the Italian Journal of Health and Social Sciences. She leads community-based health promotion and capacity-building programs at Plus-Circle Community Health Advancement Organization. With an unending passion for knowledge sharing and improving community health, Aanuoluwapo drives health innovations and education at the grassroots.

Dr. Oluwaferanmi Omitoyin

Associate

Dr. Omitoyin is a medical doctor, researcher, policy advocate, and public health professional. He has worked in community development and public health advocacy for over seven years, with particular interests in mental health, infectious diseases, and non-communicable diseases.He has coordinated public health efforts that have impacted over 20,000 young people. In recognition of his commitment to the development of young people in his community, he was recognized by Forbes Magazine as a Gratitude Network Fellow in 2019. He has served in various global organizations such as the Born This Way Foundation, the International Association for Youth Mental Health (IAYMH), and the Global Mental Health Action Network (GMHAN), among others. He is a seasoned speaker and project coordinator with significant global collaboration experience.At Plus-Circle Community Health Advancement Organization, he participates in program planning, writes articles, and promotes health education through infographics and social media.

Ms. Olubunmi Ajala

Programs Officer

Ms. Olubunmi Ajala is a dedicated public health professional with a Master of Public Health degree in Reproductive and Family Health from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She is deeply passionate about advancing adolescent health and is committed to addressing the unique challenges faced by young people in accessing quality healthcare services. Her advocacy is rooted in evidence-based approaches and a desire to empower communities with knowledge and resources for sustainable health outcomes.

Currently, Olubunmi serves as the Programs Officer at Plus-Circle Community Health Advancement Organization. In this role, she drives impactful community health initiatives, focusing on improving health literacy and access to care. Her work involves designing and implementing programs that foster resilience and holistic well-being among vulnerable populations, particularly adolescents, making her a pivotal force in the organization’s mission to advance public health.
